In this messy, chaotic world, it can be difficult for today’s youth to find a solid, dependable community that they can count on to always be there for them. One way that lots of youth find community is within their church youth groups.

These groups offer places where they can bond with other teens over their faith, but also create strong friendships and relationships while having fun.

“It’s really supportive, I love the girls there, I mean, when we go to small group, it’s like sometimes it’s just like a massive yap sesh, which we need.. everyone’s so welcoming, and I never wanna leave and I always wanna be there,” said Anna Rosol.

These supportive groups that teens have found within their churches offer a way for teens to escape everything going on in the world and focus on what’s really important: their faith in their God.

“I’m like a different person at youth group, I’m so comfortable there. I’m like a hot mess express, everyone moms me, I love it there,” said Anna Rosol (11).

Youth groups also offer a space where teens feel more comfortable to be themselves.

“I definitely feel more comfortable at youth group because like I said we’ve known each other for a long time and it’s a very non-judgmental place,” said Julianne Crim (11).

There are countless reasons to join a youth group.

“We have a really good time, we learn about Jesus, and we are really good friends,” said Julianne Crim (11).

Joining a youth group at a church near you offers a type of close knit community that can’t be found anywhere else. So find a church near you and join its youth group.
