By the time that the final term of the school year rolls around, it’s not uncommon for motivation to disappear. Across the board, attendances drop, grades falter, and even the lowliest freshmen begin to diagnose themselves with the infamous “senioritis.” After the initial excitement of the new calendar year becomes lackluster, it becomes increasingly difficult for previously motivated students to keep up with the boredom leading up to the days before summer.
However, the fourth term of the school year is still incredibly important for students’ success. Final GPAs and transcripts all ultimately come down to how students handle these last few weeks. Though persevering through the undeniable boredom can be trivial, the final quarter of the school year ultimately solidifies a student’s academic status in the long run.
Seniors objectively face the most temptation to ditch class due to the solidification of class rank out of the way. However, there absolutely is still time to become a “super senior.” While attending class may seem annoying, it’s certainly better than having to repeat senior year.
So, while it may not seem like it now, making the most of the fourth term is ultimately beneficial to academic success in the long run.
