British singer and songwriter Oliva Dean has officially reached the global music stage. After a long journey showcasing her soulful voice and relatable lyrics, Dean has won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best New Artist on February 1, 2026.
After building momentum with her debut album Messy, the 26-year-old London native rose to international fame with her second album, The Art of Loving, which produced the hits “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall In Love).” Her music blends soul, pop, and jazz influences to create beautiful pieces of art, while also being vulnerable and relatable. Her melodies and lyrics help her attract people of all demographics.
At the Grammy Ceremony in Los Angeles, Dean delivered an emotional acceptance speech in which she paid tribute to her family and her roots as a granddaughter of an immigrant, calling herself “a product of bravery.” Her win over high competition, like the music group KATSEYE, The Marias, Sombr, and Leon Thomas, her win reflects her talent and the impact her music has on others.
“I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,” the 26-year-old noted while accepting her award. “I’m a product of bravery, and I think those people ought to be celebrated,” Oliva Dean said in her acceptance speech.
With sold-out tours, festival appearances, and a Grammy now under her belt, Dean’s career shows no signs of slowing down. As she releases new music and expands her reach, many believe Oliva Dean is just now getting started.
