With the holiday season in full swing, students and their families all around Wylie are looking forward to participating in their favorite of Christmas traditions, any rituals that truly make them feel like Christmas has arrived.
Students look forward to the traditions that their families keep alive every year.
“Usually my family goes to my cousin’s house and we have Christmas Eve really late,” Juliann Crim (11) said.
While some families are all getting together on Christmas Eve, other families prefer to stay close to home on Christmas day.
“Just gonna be my mom, dad, sister, me, and my uncle and grandpa, eating food and opening gifts,” Madison McMinimy (11) said.
Every student looks forward to Christmas, and every student has their favorite traditional aspects of the holiday.
“Opening presents, giving presents, and the cold,” said Juliann Crim (11) when asked what her favorite thing about the holiday season is.
One tradition that most families participate in every year, though, is looking forward to spending time with each other and opening gifts with their loved ones.
“We usually wake up at like 8am and open gifts and then around lunch time we’ll eat like turkey, basically a thanksgiving meal all over again,” said Madison McMinimy (11).
No matter what kind of traditions each family participates in each Christmas, every family can agree that they look forward to what this time of year brings.
