With only one week of school left before Christmas break, students are getting excited for a long awaited rest and spending time with their families. Making a Christmas list gives parents and other family members inspiration on what to gift for their loved ones on Christmas.
When asked about what is on her list, Harper Hudson (9) shares some of her gift ideas for the holiday season.
“I would like weighted plushies, perfume, camera film, and stickers,” Harper Hudson (9) said.
Christmas morning is always filled with excitement with opening gifts with your family. Jeriah Garcia (11) shared if he opens presents or stockings first.
“We open the stockings first, like it’s an appetizer for the gifts. A few days before Christmas, we open the stockings to keep us busy during the break,” said Jeriah Garcia (11).
Christmas is about spending time with family and friends you may have not seen in a long time. With everyone all in one place, traditions are a good way to celebrate the holiday and catch up on the busy year.
“Usually my Grandma and I would make these cookies and they are really fun to make, and we get out these cookie cutters and with the icing we get to design actual things,” said Hudson (9). “On Christmas morning, she [Grandma] makes cinnamon rolls and they are so good”.
Leading up to the big day of gift giving and receiving, Christmas movies are definitely a fun way to get into the spirit.
“I love ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas.’ I love the visuals, the characters, the animation styles and the writing,” Garcia (11) said.
Christmas, along with other holidays during the month of December, is such a wonderful time of the year. You get to enjoy catching up with family and taking time out to be grateful for all the blessings in life. Sometimes the gifts are not just the ones you open during the holiday, but are found in the people and experiences that surround you.
