Every year on November 1, everyone gets split into two competing groups: the people who are hanging up Christmas lights before all the trick or treaters are cleared off the street, and those who insist the tree shouldn’t go up until the Friday after Thanksgiving. But the question remains: when is it actually time to start celebrating?
“November 1st because that’s when it starts to get cold and because Christmas should be celebrated as long as possible,” said Juliann Crim (11).
While Juliann Crim (11) believes that the holiday should start as soon as possible, Anna Rosal feels differently.
“After Thanksgiving, because that’s the holiday too, and I feel like the message is really important at Thanksgiving, so that shouldn’t be overlooked by Christmas,” said Anna Rosal (11).
With strong opinions on both sides, one thing is clear: whether you deck the halls on November 1 or wait until the leftovers are gone, the start of the season is all about what feels right to you.
