On Nov 7, the Wylie Varsity football team played their annual Crosstown Showdown game against Wylie East High school at the Wylie Stadium. Students were encouraged to attend the game in all black attire, representing the game’s blackout theme.
Additionally, Wylie High’s senior night was celebrated at the game, recognizing the class of 2026. Seniors in football, color guard, band, drill team, and ROTC were given the opportunity to walk the field, commemorating the end of their final football season.
As for the game itself, Wylie High unfortunately suffered a 36-28 to Wylie East. However, the Pirates are hopeful they will redeem themselves and take home a win at Crosstown Showdown next season.
