As of Oct 27, Wylie ISD has begun its annual food drive. Members of the Wylie community are encouraged to make donations to the Wylie Community Christian Care Center in support of the cause.
At the moment, the items in highest demand are boxed meals, dry cereal, chili, condiments, peanut butter, and jelly. However, the Christian Care Center is accepting most sealed food products, specifically canned items.
For those unable to deliver cans and food items, Wylie ISD is also accepting monetary donations. Those wishing to donate this way can enter the website Revtrak, select their school, and choose the Food Drive link.
The Wylie ISD food drive will continue until Nov 12, but the Wylie Community Christian Care Center is accepting donations and offering volunteer positions year round.
The Christian Care Center is open on Monday and Wednesday from 10am through 2pm accepting food, clothing, and financial aid for utilities and rent, and Sunday from 10am to 12am accepting solely food donations.
