On Oct. 26, 2025, the New York Giants running back, Cam Skattebo, left the field with his foot going the wrong direction. 8 minutes away from halftime, Skattebo got tackled by Zack Baun, but this wasn’t an ordinary tackle. This tackle caused Skattebo’s foot to get pinned down unnaturally, and ended up causing a dislocated ankle, fractured fibula, and ruptured ligament.
Skattebo was carted off the field after his injury, and the crowd gave him a round of applause as he made it to the sideline. Skattebo was taken immediately to a hospital in Philadelphia, where he was put under emergency surgery to close the open wound in order to avoid an infection.
Skattebo’s surgery went well, and he has been discharged from the hospital. Shockingly, he is expected to be mostly recovered by the Giants’ offseason, as his estimated recovery time is 4-6 months.
With Skattebo being out, the Giants will put in Tyrone Tracy Jr. Tracy is a great substitute, and fully prepared, but there are still many who are disappointed to be losing Skattebo’s positive energy and attitude towards the team.
The giants will continue to play just as hard with Skabetto cheering them on from the sideline, and they will be ready to bring him back in when he’s ready.
