Starting October 13, 2025, Wylie High School begins its fall break period, nine weeks after the first day of school.
In previous years, a fall break wasn’t a part of the school calendar in the North Texas area. It wasn’t until 2017 that Forney ISD started its fall break, and then more school districts followed suit.
Many school districts observe a Fall Break to promote students’ mental health and provide a break between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Many pirate students welcome the break because it gives them a long-needed break.
“I feel good about it because I like a week where I can just relax after the long term I had.” Lilia Taher said.
Fall break isn’t the only break this semester. Wylie High will have a Thanksgiving break from November 24, 2025, to November 28, 2025, and a Christmas break from December 22, 2025, to January 2, 2026
