On Friday, September 19th, the varsity volleyball coaches threw a surprise celebration for Coach O, who just earned her 250th win with Wylie High School.

Coach O’s 250th win was an away game, where Wylie played against Garland and came out on top. Assistant coaches Hammontree and Butts had realized this accomplishment was coming up and got onto planning something special. “We thought we should do something and not tell her- and surprise her,” said Assistant Coach Hammontree.

Coach O has left a positive impact on Wylie, from her coaching to who she is as a person. “She’s just a really good mentor, on and off the court,” said Hammontree.

“Not only does she want to teach her assistant coaches, you know, how to be a head coach, but she also like, gives us life advice outside and everything like that.”

Coach O is continuously building a legacy at Wylie High School, and everybody knows that she will continue to do so as a volleyball coach here at Wylie.
