On Sept 19, girls entered the school building wearing mums on their chest twice the size of their entire bodies, and guys with garters on their arms. But as the students made their way into AHMO headquarters, the pirates were immediately told to abandon the ship due to an issue with the AC and a wave of students made their way into the parking lot.

Students were taken aback by the incident and were unsure how to react.

“We were kind of distraught over it but we just figured that it really wasn’t a big deal and was probably just a malfunction in the system, and you know, we just tried to stay as calm as we could,” said Emily Walker (11).

The student remained pretty uninformed throughout the whole evacuation.

“We were all confused,” said Madison McMimmy (11). “We were literally, like, when are we going back to class?”

The building was eventually cleared to re enter after students had been evacuated for close to two hours. The homecoming Friday continued as a fun, normal day and concluded with the homecoming football game later that evening.
