On Sept 19, 2025, Wylie Varsity football won their homecoming game against Sachse High School with a score of 34-27.
With support from Wylie students in the stands dressed in patriotic themed attire, the Pirates fought until the very last second to defeat the Mustangs. Fueled by a significant homecoming game loss for the 24-25 homecoming game, the team persevered through an incredibly close game to secure their triumphant win.
While the Pirates sat comfortably in the lead towards the beginning of the game, Sachse threatened to catch up to Wylie as the game progressed. However, they were no match for the Pirates, who ultimately scored a final touchdown and secured their win.
The victory moved Wylie to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the district. On Sept 26, the Pirates are set to play South Garland at HBJ Stadium at 7pm. Additionally, on Oct 3, Wylie will celebrate Future Pirate Night with a home game against Naaman Forest. So, make sure to show some school spirit and pack the stands.
