On August 28, 2025, the Dallas Cowboys traded their defensive end, Micah Parsons, to the Green Bay Packers, in return receiving Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks. This trade was an unexpected one, especially after Jerry Jones had made statements saying he would not trade Parsons.
The trade of Micah Parsons wasn’t ever in Jones’ plans, however, plans changed. After a negotiation with Jones, Parsons formally put in a trade request to leave the Dallas Cowboys. Jones took the request as a tactic of negotiation, but this was not Parsons’ intent. Parsons was looking for a contract that would guarantee him the most money, which he ultimately found outside of the Dallas Cowboys.
“I feel like some players like Micah Parsons, like he loves the game, and he’s willing to take his talents elsewhere to play for the game,” said Robert Welch, WHS JV Nose guard. “He’s a really good player, so he deserves some more money for his talent.”
There is a good level of understanding that comes with the trade of Parsons, especially after the conflict between Parsons and Jones.
Parsons was a big asset to the Dallas Cowboys, leaving a noticeable difference without him on the field. Although Cowboys fans are upset that Parsons has moved to Green Bay, Green Bay fans are welcoming in their new Defense player with open arms. Parsons’ presence was instantly noticeable, even after coming in with a healing back injury. Parsons has done exceptionally well and the Green Bay defense has made a clear improvement with him on the team.
Whether you’re a fan of Green Bay or The Dallas Cowboys, it seems that NFL lovers wish Parsons well in whatever position he takes on.
