On Sept 9, 2025, the Girls JV Volleyball team competed against Rowlett at WHS’s Montgomery Center.
The game was quick, with WHS winning 2 sets to none, despite Rowlett’s intense yelling and consistent attempts to distract the players. The Wylie players were able to maintain their cool throughout the game, and multiple servers landed aces against the Eagles. There were also plenty of off the net plays, with WHS blocking almost all of Rowlett’s quick strikes.
Coach Butts stayed composed on the side lines, calmly coaching the players through the win. Teammates exchanged handshakes and high fives after plays, and supported each other through misses and mistakes.
The team plays almost every Tuesday and Friday til mid-October, so there’s still plenty of time to come see them play. On Sept 19, the team will be taking on Sachse High, Wylie High’s biggest rival. Come out and support the team to help them take down the Mustangs.
