Celebrating the Arts is a multi-night event where Wylie High School showcases the different areas of our fine arts classes. This includes band, art, winter guard, choir, and dance, where students get to share their talents and how they represent Wylie High.
Band had their Celebrate the Arts performance at Wylie East, where they performed different pieces as part of That Wylie Band. They highlighted the variety of groups within band, also showing the skill and teamwork that goes into every performance.
Art was showcased over two nights. Students displayed different kinds of artwork or medium, using things like paint, pencil, and photography. The art was set up in the cafeteria so students, families, or anyone could walk through and see the creativity and hard work that went into each piece.
Winter guard performed a routine that combined dance, tricks, and with their flags, rifles and music. Their show took a lot of focus and practice, and it blended movement and visuals to create a unique performance.
Choir also had a performance during that week. This was showcased here at the Wylie high theatre, and they sang songs that showed their vocal range and how well they sounded together. Their music gave the audience a listen into what the different sections of choir brings.
Dance had its special night as well. The dance students performed several routines that showed off their skills and creativity. The Pacesetter officers were also featured in a small part of the show. Together, they gave a strong and entertaining performance that showed their passion for dance.
All in all, every part of the fine arts had the chance to showcase their talents. It showed how Wylie High is represented in many creative ways through music, art, movement, and performance.
