The 97th Academy Awards took place on March 2nd and was hosted by Conan O’Brien. All of the films that were nominated for awards were released in 2024. Let’s see who took home the prestigious Oscar award.
To start off the night, Ariana Grande sang Over the Rainbow from “The Wizard of Oz” and Cynthia Erivo joined her to sing Defying Gravity from “Wicked.” Conan O’Brien did a great job as a host. Before his monologue he did a funny skit having to do with the movie “The Substance”, and that got a lot of laughs. Then he continued with his cold open monologue.
The work that goes on behind the scenes of these amazing films should not go unnoticed. Let’s take a look at the faces b cameehind thera. For Best Makeup and Hairstyling, the Oscar went to “The Substance”. Best Costume Design went to Paul Tazewell for “Wicked”, who was the first African American to win in that category.
