Organizing the Homecoming parade can be very chaotic, but the final product comes out great and with lots of spirit. It brings out some of the AMHO spirit into the community of Wylie.
“Since this year we were in charge of the Hoco parade, we wanted to make sure it came out the way we wanted it to,” Sarah Barre(12) said.
Everyone brings something to the table and creates a little bit of what goes into the Homecoming parade.
“I was excited to be there with my powerlifting team and have our own float. I haven’t done anything like this before but it’s cool to be dressed up and be up on the float for people to see,” Brittany Licett (12) said.
“Being in band and performing at the parade was kind of nerve racking but it turned out great and that all rehearsals had made this a very great turn out,” Ava Cook (11) said.
Bits and parts of our city of Wylie made up different parts of the parade. It brought together a community and everyone was able to see the creations of everyone involved.
“Loved to do this one last time and being there with my favorite people and my whole team from the Pacesetters. Even seeing the firefighters and all the parents and people who helped us out with all of this,” Veeka Schlensker (12) said.
Everyone had an important part in creating this Hoco celebration. From football players, school sports teams, parents, band, the pacesetters, to cheer, school clubs and organizations and the many others that made the annual Homecoming parade possible. Another great way to start the school year for everyone.
