As the school year starts, the focus shifts from academics to student style. Looking around Wylie High School, there are multiple different outfits and styles being worn by students.
The trend of thrifting has picked up over the past few years. Many people are finding cute outfits at second hand shops.
“I’ve always been into reusing fashion because the fast fashion industry is freaky, but I never found the necessity to buy high end clothes when you can get them for three dollars,” Delaney Schilpp (11) said.
Comfort is a top priority when spending eight hours in school everyday. There are many different ways to stay fashionable yet comfortable at school.
“I do a cute top and cute jeans, and then I just wear UGGS or shoes that are more comfortable.” Tinbit Ferru (9) said.
Everyone has their own personal style. Personality plays a big part in the different styles of clothing that can be chosen.
Schlipp describes her style as, “very colorful, and I go bolder than the average Wylie highschooler. I kind of just stopped caring about what other people thought I wore. I kind of have a hippy, seventies, boho thing going on, but I honestly wear whatever I’m comfortable in.”
There is so much fashion from the past that can be an influence for people. Finding inspiration for personal style can come from various sources.
“I kind of take a lot of different styles and make them my own, but I really think the 2000s are really cute, like the flared leggings and jeans,” Ferru said.
Student fashion is all about expressing one’s own creativity and individuality. This school year, be confident in the many different clothing choices that are available .
