The Varsity Boys Soccer team is heading to playoffs as the number one school in the district. They had twenty-two games in total and won twenty of them overall this season. They also had one playoff game last Tuesday March 26th.
Ten of their games were won without getting a single goal scored against them. There are many reasons for them to not get scored on, but one of the greatest reasons is because of their goalkeeper.
“I feel like in a few games I kept my team in tight situations, goalkeeper Alessandro Sanchez (12) said. “I also feel that I set the scene for the season after the second district game we had, because of what I said to one of my teammates.”
They won both of their games against Wylie East as well. At their home game, they won two to one, and at their away game they also won two to one. One of the games was for their overall district games while the other was for Crosstown Showdown.
“It felt amazing beating Wylie East both times after all the pressure that was put on us to win district,” Cristian Aviles (11) said.
Although the boys soccer team had many wins and a great season, the boys from the team got emotional as they lost their first Playoff’s game against Rockwall. This loss would finish their season for the year.
