The Wylie High Golf team is in the middle of districts and has been working hard and putting in the effort to be great. Addison Oestreicher (11) has been on varsity golf for 3 years and tells us about the dedication needed for golf.

“My practice schedule is different for multiple things. If I have a tournament coming up, I focus on my swing and just make sure that it’s making good contact.” Oestreicher (11) said, “as well as having good ball flights.”

When you’re an athlete and you have a tournament coming up, many people have many ways to prepare for it. For the Wylie High Golf team, warm up as a team but also get prepared mentally by themselves.

“I focus on my mentality since golf is mainly a mental battle. My mentality right now is “We can, We will, We must.” Kaeli Drake and I came up with that for tournaments. We can play good, we will play good, we must play good.” Oestreicher (11) said

Being on a team can be amazing, for the Wylie High Golf team they have an amazing team, and have a wonderful connection with each other. They support each other and push each other to be their best which is what teammates are supposed to do.

“I’ve been on the Varsity golf team for the last 3 years, and the bond I have with my team is like no other you find for other golf teams. They are like my second family.” Oestreicher (11) said, “We just are super close, and that is the best part about being on the golf team.”

The Wylie High golf team is filled with strong, hard-working, and dedicated people who care for each other and care for the program. They motivate each other to be their best like a family and also fight to be the best.
